Black and White Tales, The Book

Before I start with the new projects for 2021, here some final considerations about my Black and White Tales project and the presentation of the book. The book can be previewed and bought here on Blurb. . . I kept the book very simple, with a short version of the tales and just location and camera used for each picture. . . See you with the new projects…

Black and White Tales, Print #49

The project is almost done and I decided to close a circle. This image was taken in the same place and with the same subject as the Black and White Tale #1. Around 35 years between the 2 images and a lot of similarities and differences! The image is a part of a project you can see here , about Giulianova harbor . . . See you next week for the conclusion of the project!

Will David get his sling and fight the Goliath mob or will he too will succumb to the modern bullies? . . “That violence is not practical. If my fellow men believe that the force of the combined tonnage of their muscles is a practical means to rule me — let them learn the outcome of a contest in which there’s nothing but brute force on one side, and force ruled by a mind, on the other.” Ragnar Danneskjold – from Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand. . . See you next time… if David will stand! .

Black and White Tales, Print #22

There are moments in history when we must very carefully chose our heroes. We have to be careful to not transform victims in heroes and vice-versa. Victims need to have justice, but heroes deserve to be remembered and be honored as examples for our lives. hero:1. a person who is admired for their courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities. victim:1. a person harmed, injured, or killed as a result of a crime, accident, or other event or action. If we confuse the terms and forget the values that make a person a hero, we will have more and more victims. To have no victims we need real heroes to follow. . . . If you want to read the great story of Placid Lassie, take a look at the Tunison Foundation website. See you next time! .

Black and White Tales, Print #20

A couple of days ago I was reading the news here in Italy and I read a title that made me think: “The USA cancel the 4th of July”. The fight against Covid is not just a medical fight but a political one. To make mistakes in communication at this moment is perhaps more dangerous in the long term than making medical mistakes. . . . See you the next time! .

Black and White Tales, Print #18

10th week of Covid jail in Italy. Every day we are losing some more freedom and giving more power to the government to keep us “safe” from a virus. Every day I look around and I see the danger of bureaucratic choices, taken without any flexibility or judgment, imposed upon the people. People protesting or simply expressing an opinion not conforming with the government, are censored from the traditional or social media and fined for their respectful protests. Few days ago in Milan, the owners of restaurants protested peacefully against the lock-down. The protester were fined 400 Euros each for illegal gathering. This is just an example but every day the same happens and most of the time does not even make the news. Some people already decided to give up and suicide because they cannot produce anymore and they have no more a way to survive but are just accumulating debts. This situation made me think about what can we do, as individuals, to keep ourselves free and not fall in the darkness of the European past. This week the video is a little longer, sorry, but I felt the need to express my thinking in a proper way […]

Black and White Tales – Print #10

Another week and another print from the Italian COVID-19 insulation. President Trump made a great tweet to express his sympathy to Italians during this difficult situation. Here is my personal answer. A little edit of my post after few days. Sadly in this world, specially in Italy, if I simply state that this is “my personal answer” to a tweet by President Trump, people wrongly assume it will be a polemic or negative answer before they even watch the video. So here the message to be clear: I love the USA and I really appreciated President Trump tweet!!! . . . Take a look at my Thunderbirds’ Portfolio here. Keep the fight for health and freedom my friends! See you next week! .
