Merry Christmas and Happy 2020

May your future be full of new discoveries, good memories and analog fun. Two important things that forever changed the world, happened 50 years ago: the Men went to the moon and I was born. Amstrong’s step was a giant leap for humanity, my first step almost at the same time while I still was a fetus in my mother belly, was the world to me and my family. 50 years is an important milestone and I decided to celebrate both events with my traditional Christmas photograph. My life started 50 years ago, but who I am started much earlier with the education, culture and traditions of my family. 50 years of exploration and analog discoveries I can still enjoy going trough drawers and boxes, while I cleanup my family home, and finding analog memories as Christmas cards from the 1800s. I celebrated this 50 years creating a unique analog photograph hoping it will end lost in a drawer and will bring some joy to whoever will find it in more than a century. Mother’s Day

I know, I’m late, one day… …but here I am with a post to celebrate the memory of my mother. Yes, I’m a typical Italian male, so my mother had been very important in my life and I miss here every day. I have many good memories, and while I’m here looking to sell the house, I’m immersed in memories. My mother loved her garden and still after more than four years, every spring the garden starts to bloom and her beloved flowers come to life. She also left a diary, a story of her life she started to write when she was around 80 years old. I decided to make a book from her diary and using images of her flowers. It is a work in progress, I started to translate the diary and insert it in a historical contest to transform it in something interesting for a wide audience. Great part of her personal story is set in the 1930s and 1940s in Italy, not an easy time to be a kid, but sure filled of experiences that are interesting to read now. Lasting Photographs.

“Almost eighty years and an ocean separate John Ragnar, a pilot with a mysterious past, from the photographs he found in a box on the beach in Clearwater near a diver in coma. The desire to give a voice to the nude young woman portrayed in the Italian Riviera, will bring John in a journey of discovery of terrible times and the power of romance.” Yes, I did it, I wrote a novel. Lasting Photographs In the past years I had the time to immerse myself in my family archive and I had a confirmation of the importance of photographs and the stories around the images. Real printed images that I was able to see with just my eyes and a simple source of light. But sometime we find images and there is nobody around to tell their stories. Sometime is just too late in time, and sometime the image traveled far away from the people who knows the story. On the antique markets we often find old photographs, most of the time of people we don’t know, and we will never know who they were and how was their life.
