Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Also this year Christmas arrived and with it my usual Christmas picture to wish you wonderful holidays, a fantastic 2023 and the joy of experiencing an analog life. . . Usually for my Christmas photograph I follow the big events of the year, and you can see in this article what I did in the past, but this year I decided to stay far away from the world events. I simply decided that I had two choices: getting very upset with how the world is run and be very polemic and political or concentrating on my passion for photography. I chose the latter. I decided to create an homage to film photography. First of all in the last years I started to use again film for a lot of my artistic production. Second this year was a great year for film photographers; Leica produced again the film camera M6 and Pentax announced, just few days ago, that will again produce analog cameras. Merry Christmas to All…

Dear Friends, I wish you a great Christmas, filled with joy and the right personal choices! . This is a strange Christmas with too many people trying to cancel it, some for cultural reasons as the European Commission, others finding excuses in a virus that seem to spread only in specific situations. It is always difficult to find a proper reaction to evil when it’s in charge of our lives, so I was wondering what to do and the question came natural: “What would John Galt do?”. The answer was very easy and so here’s my traditional Christmas image for the year 2021! This year, more than ever, we are in a war, it’s not a traditional war at the moment but a cultural war. One side is the side expressing all the values that permit to appreciate and enjoy Christmas, the other side is the side that is not able to joy and wants to cancel it. Black and White Tales – Print #6

I was reading a book few weeks ago, the main character was describing his grandfather and he wrote that his grandpa was used to say he had to get naked to count up to 21.So I arrived at print number 6 and decided to start to use the sign language to enumerate my prints before I was out of fingers! YouTube and FaceBook policies could be pretty restrictive about people counting up to 21. Now that you know you are ready to watch the video! . . . If you like to know more about the history of the Declaration of Independence, the United States Constitution an political philosophy, one of the great sources to start is the Hillsdale College. Naughty or nice?

Another year is almost gone and is time again to evaluate if I was a naughty or nice boy. Calm down your expectations… I will not tell here in public the personal aspects of my life and all my sins, but only the photographic part! Anyway… Santa was pretty good with me so I think I didn’t do too bad also on the non photographic aspects of my life. In a year a lot changed. I had some plans I had to postpone for reasons out of my control, but despite all I managed to do something I’m proud of. Steps toward my goals and great professional satisfactions. I took some pictures that really satisfy me, even after months, reaching the end of the year, I look at them and I feel the same emotions I felt taking them. First of all I had the opportunity to discover Levico, a city with thermal springs known from the ancient times. Mother’s Day

I know, I’m late, one day… …but here I am with a post to celebrate the memory of my mother. Yes, I’m a typical Italian male, so my mother had been very important in my life and I miss here every day. I have many good memories, and while I’m here looking to sell the house, I’m immersed in memories. My mother loved her garden and still after more than four years, every spring the garden starts to bloom and her beloved flowers come to life. She also left a diary, a story of her life she started to write when she was around 80 years old. I decided to make a book from her diary and using images of her flowers. It is a work in progress, I started to translate the diary and insert it in a historical contest to transform it in something interesting for a wide audience. Great part of her personal story is set in the 1930s and 1940s in Italy, not an easy time to be a kid, but sure filled of experiences that are interesting to read now. Thanksgiving 2018

Thanksgiving, a holiday I learned to celebrate. Thanksgiving is not an Italian tradition so I grew up without it. Thanksgiving is one of my preferred holidays. Every year, also when I’m in Italy, I celebrate it. I dedicate a day to think about the blessings I had in my life, I try to quit my complaining and enjoy at the fullest what I have. Today I was looking thru my parents belongings and I found a typewriter, so I celebrated thanksgiving playing with it. I let the images speak. And here the letter I wrote to remember what I’m thankful for.
