Black and White Tales, Print #49

The project is almost done and I decided to close a circle. This image was taken in the same place and with the same subject as the Black and White Tale #1. Around 35 years between the 2 images and a lot of similarities and differences! The image is a part of a project you can see here , about Giulianova harbor . . . Black and White Tales – Print#9

A little tale and some considerations about Corona Virus in Italy. Many friends from the USA asked me about how I’m dealing with the COVID-19 and how is the situation in Italy, so I chose a print that expressed how I’m used to deal with situations limiting my freedom of movement. . . . Follow me here on the blog if you like to have some first hand updates about the Corona virus in Italy. . UPDATE ABOUT CORONAVIRUS IN ITALY – 8th of March 2020 A lot change since I made the video, so I will try to do a daily update of the situation. I will keep this out of the Black and White Tale project to not infect it with the virus and the total craziness going on in Italy right now. .

Black and White Tales – Print #6

I was reading a book few weeks ago, the main character was describing his grandfather and he wrote that his grandpa was used to say he had to get naked to count up to 21.So I arrived at print number 6 and decided to start to use the sign language to enumerate my prints before I was out of fingers! YouTube and FaceBook policies could be pretty restrictive about people counting up to 21. Now that you know you are ready to watch the video! . . . If you like to know more about the history of the Declaration of Independence, the United States Constitution an political philosophy, one of the great sources to start is the Hillsdale College. Exploring the analogue past

In the last days I’m exploring an analogue past and thinking about the digital present. A lot of water passed under the bridge since my last blog post. My father passed away, my sabbatical I took to take care of him is going to end soon and at the moment I’m putting some order in my home getting ready to sell it and move on with my life. I come from a family were we used to keep everything and for sure a lot of pictures. Opening boxes and drawers I found the photographic archive of the family, the oldest one consisted in a lot of prints, starting from the beginning of 1900, the newest one, mostly created by me consists in CSs, DVDs and hard disks. Guess what? The oldest archive is accessible without any tools but my eyes and a source of light, the newest one requires a ton of tools and it is still accessible thanks only to the redundancy I applied when I created it, using different media to store my images, but the CDs and DVDs are almost all unreadable now.
