Pentax K3 Monochrome, full review.

Introduction Thanks to Fowa, the Italian Pentax importer, I had the Pentax K3 MkIII monochrome to test for some weeks. There is only one way to describe my feelings for this camera: I’m in love with it. I like to do black and white photography, both in film and digital, and it’s the first time using a digital camera I feel the camera is just a tool to realize my vision and not something that will be in my way and I will have to figure out how to not let it influence my vision. . The camera The Pentax K3 MkIII, in its normal color version, had been on the market for a while. It’s a beautifully built 26 Megapixels Aps-C reflex camera that had great reviews from many photographers. The body is solid, weather sealed, very easy to use and has a beautiful viewfinder. In the era of mirrorless Pentax decided to continue to produce reflex cameras. If you like optical viewfinders as much as I do, you will really like the quality of the Pentax viewfinders. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Also this year Christmas arrived and with it my usual Christmas picture to wish you wonderful holidays, a fantastic 2023 and the joy of experiencing an analog life. . . Usually for my Christmas photograph I follow the big events of the year, and you can see in this article what I did in the past, but this year I decided to stay far away from the world events. I simply decided that I had two choices: getting very upset with how the world is run and be very polemic and political or concentrating on my passion for photography. I chose the latter. I decided to create an homage to film photography. First of all in the last years I started to use again film for a lot of my artistic production. Second this year was a great year for film photographers; Leica produced again the film camera M6 and Pentax announced, just few days ago, that will again produce analog cameras. Black and White Tales, Print #50

After a year, the most strange, upsetting and confusing year of my life, the Black and White Tales project arrived at its end. A project that helped me stay alive in this crazy world. . . I hope you enjoyed it, now is time for me for some postpartum depression and I will be back in January with other projects to share with you.

The project is almost done and I decided to close a circle. This image was taken in the same place and with the same subject as the Black and White Tale #1. Around 35 years between the 2 images and a lot of similarities and differences! The image is a part of a project you can see here , about Giulianova harbor . . . This week I got inspired by a comment from Christian Speck on my last Tale video. First, check is website ‘case is worth. Second, he suggested me a book: Code Zero by Marc Elsberg. A very intriguing book and the inspiration for this Tale. . . . Two more weeks to go…

Another week and few more to go before the end of this project. A week that made me think how we arrived at the use of atomic bombs to stop a war after more than 60 millions casualties. What was the point of no return that brought the world to the tragedy of a world war? . . .
